About Christine
I graduated with a Master of Laws (cand.jur.) from Aarhus University in January 2023 and began working as a Junior Associate (advokatfuldmægtig) at Hulgaard Advokater on 1 February 2023. However, I was already familiar with the firm, as I worked as a legal student assistant while completing my master’s degree.
My main area of work is within the area of Family Wealth — a field that lies in the crossroad of corporate operations and private life in family-owned businesses. Here, I assist with matters such as succession planning, inheritance, marriage contracts, asset protection, and ownership transitions. These matters are often complex and requires holistic solutions tailored to both business and personal needs.
More broadly, I work on cases involving tax law, corporate law, and family and inheritance law. However – thanks to my colleagues, I’m involved in a wide range of legal matters, allowing me to develop a strong foundation across many of the firm’s practice areas.
I’m based at our Aarhus office.
Why did you choose to study law?
I’ve always been fascinated by society and the shared rules that shape our daily lives. That curiosity led me to pursue a degree in law. I enjoy immersing myself in legal theory and taking the time to “nerd out” in order to find the right solution to complex legal challenges.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
No two days are the same. As a Junior Associate, my work includes legal research, drafting documents, client meetings, and close collaboration with experienced colleagues. I prefer working from the office, as it allows for ongoing professional dialogue and feedback.
In addition to my role at the firm, I also work as an external lecturer at Aarhus University, where I teach Family and Inheritance Law to undergraduate law students. Teaching helps me stay academically sharp and deepens my understanding of the field in practice.
What skills are important for your job?
It’s important to maintain a clear overview of each case and to stay engaged in the process, since you’re always working closely with the responsible attorney of the current case. You also need to challenge yourself with unfamiliar topics and proactively seek out feedback from experienced colleagues.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy seeing how legal theory is brought to life in practice. I think its truly rewarding to be able to help clients and actually use complex regulations and commercial thinking to reach practical solutions!
What do you appreciate about working at Hulgaard Advokater?
At Hulgaard Advokater, I’m challenged with exciting and varied legal tasks that help me grow professionally. The firm values flexibility and trust, which allows me to structure my workday in a way that suits me best.
And above all — I work with the best colleagues, which makes even the greyest Monday feel like a sunny Friday.
When I’m not at work…
…you’ll probably find me enjoying a run or catching up with friends over a cold beer.
